All You Have to Do Is…

I’ve done lots and lots and lots of tapping. But there is one thing that anyone can say that will annoy me instantly. Just start a sentence in a conversation with me with, “All you have to do is…” Uh, oh! All my resistance and walls go up and nothing you say after that gets through. If “all you have to do is…” why don’t you do it? If “all you have to do is…” why isn’t it done already. If “all you have to do is…” so simple why hasn’t someone else solved it long ago?

“All you have to do is..” is even more annoying when it comes from someone who is trying to be “helpful” but has never done it before in their lives.

So word to the wise – if you want me to do something for you – never, never, never couch the request in the words, “All you have to do is…”
